About the position

The Field Applications Engineer role at NVIDIA focuses on providing technical support and expertise for large datacenter deployments of NVIDIA AI computing systems. This position is crucial for engaging with customers, solving complex hardware issues, and ensuring successful implementation of AI solutions in enterprise environments. The role requires collaboration across various functions within the organization and aims to enhance customer experience through technical leadership and relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite support for large datacenter deployments of NVIDIA AI solutions.
  • Solve complex hardware and deployment issues.
  • Act as a technical specialist on GPU and networking products, supporting sales account managers.
  • Establish technical relationships with customer engineers, management, and architects at focus accounts.
  • Identify customer architectures and key product requirements in the enterprise AI market.
  • Provide technical and sales training to the direct sales team and channel partners.
  • Establish strong relationships and communication channels with internal teams.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of work-related experience in the high-tech electronics industry in a system design role or technical customer support role.
  • In-depth knowledge of servers, storage systems, network devices, and other data center hardware.
  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment without losing focus.
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time-management and organization skills for coordinating multiple initiatives and priorities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large-scale rollouts of datacenter equipment.
  • Networking knowledge -- TCP/IP, RDMA, RoCE, NICs, Switches, etc.
  • C/C++ and Python programming skills.
  • Embedded Linux System, APIs, and similar embedded OS knowledge.
  • Experience working with OEMs in the industrial, military, and ruggedized computing space.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and cooling systems for thermal management, power distribution, cabling, and rack layout.
  • CPU Architecture knowledge.
