About the position

The Senior Field Applications Engineer at Copia Automation is responsible for supporting the implementation of the DeviceLink product in industrial automation environments. This role involves collaborating with sales and customer success teams to ensure timely deployments, providing ongoing technical support, and customizing integrations to meet client needs. The position requires a strong technical background in operational technology and project management, with a focus on securing OT networks and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the post-sales team to orchestrate timely and highly efficient deployments of DeviceLink and Source Control solutions.
  • Provide comprehensive and continuous support to key accounts who have deployed Copia DeviceLink, serving as their primary point of contact for troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to address custom integration requirements from customers, leveraging expertise in PLC automation.
  • Engage proactively with customers to develop and implement best practices for securing Operational Technology (OT) networks.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to customers via various communication channels, resolving technical issues and inquiries.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to provide on-site technical support and guidance to customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in OT networking, with proficiency in the Purdue model and related OT network topology.
  • 2+ years of experience in project management on complex projects or deployments.
  • PLC programming and networking experience with Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills across software, hardware, and network components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Extensive experience in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as SQL or Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with common protocols such as FTP, SCP, sFTP.
