About the position

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) at Advanced Energy is a pivotal role focused on driving sales growth in the industrial and medical power supply segment. This position involves collaborating with sales, marketing, and design engineers to provide technical support and solutions to customers, ensuring successful adoption of Advanced Energy's power solutions across various applications. The FAE will engage with customers throughout the entire engagement process, from presales to postproduction support, and will play a critical role in product development by communicating customer needs and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the adoption of Advanced Energy power solutions at all stages of the engagement process.
  • Provide AE solution recommendations, system architecture guidance, and schematic reviews.
  • Offer on-site customer qualification and debug support.
  • Develop engineering relationships with customers to identify and communicate technical requirements for new applications.
  • Provide technology updates and product training to customers, sales, and distribution teams.
  • Influence sales strategy with technical insights and customer advocacy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of power electronics design and/or applications experience.
  • BSEE degree.
  • Extensive knowledge of power electronics with the ability to qualify, test, modify, and debug power supplies in the lab.
  • Basic knowledge of digital communication bus such as I2C bus and firmware reloading/rebooting experience.
  • Solid problem-solving methodology.
  • Charismatic communication skills to advocate for customers and the company.
