About the position

The Senior Field Network Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and lifecycle management for innovative hardware, software, and network systems. This role involves project management, equipment procurement, system integration, and compliance with security policies. The engineer will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the successful deployment and operation of communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement of required equipment or components for communications systems build-out.
• Uncrate, set up, and build out new equipment.
• Configure and customize hardware and software packages, including system integration and testing.
• Prepare customer system documentation and drawings of rack elevations.
• Train onsite customer personnel on system operations and maintenance.
• Conduct tests, inspections, and verifications of customer communications systems to ensure compliance with COMSEC policies and project management requirements.

Requirements

• Strong background in Microsoft Systems Engineering and support for those systems.
• Recent experience with Windows platform operating systems and Microsoft applications, including Windows 10 and Server 2012/2016.
• Knowledge of virtualization products, particularly Hyper-V.
• Understanding of TCP/IP routing and secure scripting.
• Experience providing Tier 3 support for technical systems.
• Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining network multi-layer switches, routers, firewalls, workstations, and secure communications.
• Experience with fiber optics and Ethernet cable installation and termination.
• Familiarity with the McAfee product suite.
• Demonstrated strong performance as an Engineer across the project lifecycle.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• 6+ years of experience with a B.S. in Computer Engineering or related field (equivalent experience may substitute for education).
• TS/SCI clearance with Poly.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer OCONUS environments.
• Experience performing site surveys for system installations.
• Experience providing technical training for foreign and domestic audiences.
• Technical Certifications: MCSE and/or CCIE.
• Working knowledge of VMWare and ESXi.
• Previous experience with storage devices like NetApp.
• Knowledge of CSFC technologies and methodologies.
• Current experience in classified and unclassified distributed work environments.
• Secure remote mobile computing experience.
• Familiarity with SCCM.
