About the position

Eaton's ES APAC ELXD division is currently seeking a Senior Field Sales Engineer to join our team. This position can be located in either Detroit, MI or Cleveland, OH, and will focus on electronics. The primary function of the Technical Sales Engineer is to drive demand creation and share gain at the OEM and EMS accounts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the ability to design-in Eaton Electronics solutions. This position will be responsible for directly interfacing with OEMs and EMSs within the Americas in their assigned territory and strategic accounts. In this role, you will be assigned a territory based on its significance to the company and their strategic accounts. You will partner with the regional sales director and regional sales manager for strategic direction, spending the majority of your time at key accounts within driving range. You will independently develop and implement action plans targeted at year-over-year growth and agreed performance levels. Additionally, you will make recommendations to management regarding potential challenges or issues on a case-by-case basis, offering solutions and proactively scheduling sales calls. Responsibilities

  • Drive demand creation and share gain at OEM and EMS accounts.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and ability to design-in Eaton Electronics solutions.
  • Interface directly with OEMs and EMSs within the Americas in assigned territory and strategic accounts.
  • Design in Eaton Electronics solutions and increase Eaton's market share.
  • Partner with regional sales director and regional sales manager for strategic direction.
  • Spend the majority of time at key accounts within driving range.

  • Make recommendations to management regarding potential challenges or issues, offering solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Electronics sales and technical selling.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an outside sales or field application role.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Detroit, MI or Cleveland, OH.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of experience in Electronics sales and technical selling.
  • 5 years of experience in an outside sales or field application role.
  • Technical knowledge in electronics circuitry, design, and application experience.
  • Able to travel up to 75%.
