About the position

The Field Sales Engineer is responsible for selling ASCO Products within a designated territory, focusing on both existing and new accounts. The role emphasizes building and maintaining customer relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and developing sales strategies to maximize product sales and market share. The position requires effective communication with clients and internal teams, as well as participation in trade shows and product seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Conduct routine calls on all assigned accounts to generate new business.
  • Improve ASCO specification position and minimize competitors listed.
  • Track and influence projects from pre-design to close out phase.
  • Maximize sales of all ASCO products and communicate project status to the sales team.
  • Develop sales strategies to close orders and increase market share for new products.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with management and identify product advantages and competitive threats.
  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals and follow up with key decision makers.
  • Host and participate in trade shows and conventions to promote products.
  • Develop sales plans and strategies in collaboration with applications groups on technical and design issues.
  • Follow up on projects quoted and coordinate quotes and submittal drawings with internal resources.
  • Identify customer needs and adapt to their concerns while ensuring a quick turnaround of customer inquiries.
  • Develop and conduct routine product seminars and action plans for improving assigned accounts.
  • Manage business relationships and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
  • Provide detailed project updates for monthly sales meetings and work closely with the Project Management team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience with similar products; local experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of the power industry and three-phase electricity.
  • Strong product, competitor, and customer knowledge to act as a consultant to targeted and established accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information to a wide audience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive to construction sites and management offices required.
  • BS degree or comparable work experience required; engineering degree preferred.
