About the position

We have an exciting opportunity to join the SIU team as a Senior Field Security Investigator! As a Senior Field Security Investigator, you will conduct investigations of suspected cases of fraud or other illegal activities against the Company, including interviewing, database inquiries, taking statements, and locating sources of information and witnesses. Responsibilities include evaluating information to determine its credibility, referring, and coordinating investigation assignments to outside agencies, and providing training and support to all departments in the claims handling process.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 3+ Years claims adjusting experience, or P&C SIU/Fraud Investigation experience or 4 years prior investigative law enforcement (including military) or relevant fraud industry investigation experience
  • Experience handling in-person or phone statements from various parties in an investigation
  • Ability to gather a broad range of evidence related to an investigation
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize heavy claim volume workloads
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance
  • Must document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license, certifications and permits
  • Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment
  • Must be able to climb on, off, in, around and under vehicles
  • Must exercise caution and awareness of surroundings while performing duties
  • Must learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
  • Knowledge of city, state, and local regulations, legal concepts, case law, medical treatments, and medical terminology

Nice-to-haves

  • 4-year Degree or higher
  • Current or prior SIU investigations experience
  • Experience handling financial, casualty, bodily injury, worker's compensation, commercial, marine, auto, property and underwriting fraud investigations
  • Ability to handle complex fraud cases and/or rings
  • Knowledge on how to use public record systems and/or claims and policy databases
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision and manage an active case load
  • Related professional designations (e.g. CIFI, CFE, FCLA, CPCU, etc.)
