About the position

The Senior Field Service Mechanical Engineer for Mine Hoist at ABB is responsible for delivering effective service solutions according to ABB's standard processes and safety guidelines. This role involves providing technical support, solving problems, and identifying new sales opportunities while collaborating with customers and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are met and service growth is achieved. The position contributes to the Process Automation Process Industries division, focusing on mining customers and requires travel, including international assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical support and solving problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any Service category.
  • Determining effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new Service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively.
  • Providing technical consulting on Service solutions to management and customers.
  • Identifying new sales opportunities and proactively communicating with customers and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum Engineering Degree required in a related field, preferably Mechanical.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with industrial systems.
  • Mine hoist systems knowledge and experience are a definite asset.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and brake control systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial cooling systems.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad and SolidWorks 3D modelling would be an asset.
  • Experience in the Mining Industry would be an asset.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.
  • Ability to work in Canada, United States and Mexico as required.
