About the position

The Senior Field Service Mechanical Engineer - Mine Hoist at ABB is responsible for delivering effective service solutions in accordance with ABB's standard processes and safety guidelines. This role involves providing technical support, problem-solving, and consulting on service solutions while identifying new sales opportunities to drive service growth. The position is integral to the Process Automation Process Industries division, focusing on mining customers and ensuring their needs are met through expert communication and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical support and solving problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any Service category.
• Determining effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, or manufacture new Service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively.
• Providing technical consulting on Service solutions to management and customers.
• Identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.

Requirements

• Minimum Engineering Degree required in a related field, preferably Mechanical.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with industrial systems.
• Mine hoist systems knowledge and experience are a definite asset.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and brake control systems.
• Knowledge of industrial cooling systems.
• Knowledge of AutoCad and SolidWorks 3D modelling would be an asset.
• Experience in the Mining Industry would be an asset.
• Valid passport and driver's license.
• Ability to work in Canada, United States and Mexico as required.
