About the position

The position involves performing project site coordination and services for IT Cooling products, which includes a range of responsibilities such as installations, start-ups, preventive maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair. The individual will utilize their advanced expertise to perform these duties and also direct others in the execution of these tasks. The role requires a proactive approach to project site planning and execution of services at customer locations, ensuring that all service requirements are met in a timely manner. In this role, the individual will lead and direct contractors and designated personnel through all phases of service projects. This includes providing technical support via telephone and email to both internal and external customers, as well as third-party service organizations and end users. The position also involves providing technical guidance and training to other technicians and authorized service providers, particularly in troubleshooting and repairing complex IT Cooling product failures. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and completing complex system installations with minimal supervision, scheduling technical sales or service support, and assisting in resolving service conflicts that may arise during site projects. Additionally, the role includes maintaining service records and documentation of services provided, inspecting and testing returned products and components to determine defects or operational status, and collaborating with representatives from other divisions to address equipment and service-related issues. The technician will also be expected to submit accurate expense reports for reimbursement in accordance with company policies and recommend service product offerings for the long-term maintenance of capital investments. Overall, the position aims to further the goals and positive image of the division by conducting business cooperatively and efficiently with other departments, customers, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project site planning and execution of services at CPSD customer locations.
  • Lead and direct contractors and MEPPI-designated personnel through all phases of service projects to meet site service requirements in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support via telephone and email to internal and external customers, including third party service organizations and end users.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to other technicians and authorized service providers to troubleshoot and repair complex IT Cooling product failures.
  • Troubleshoot and complete complex system installations with minimal supervision.
  • Schedule technical sales or service support, including emergency calls.
  • Assist in resolving service conflicts that may arise regarding the site project.
  • Assist in resolving issues with planning and development of new IT Cooling products.
  • Provide emergency technical support and field service on an on-call basis.
  • Maintain service records and documentation of services provided.
  • Inspect and test returned products and components and systems to determine defects and/or operational status.
  • Collaborate with representatives from other Divisions to identify and address equipment and service-related issues and opportunities.
  • Submit accurate expense reports into the Company for reimbursement on a timely manner in accordance with Company policies.
  • Recommend service product offerings for the long-term maintenance of the capital investment.
  • Further the goals and a positive image of the Division by conducting business with other MEPPI departments, customers, and suppliers in a timely and cooperative manner.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in HVAC, Electrical Electronics, or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, including 3-5 years of experience in Mitsubishi Electric technology, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT Cooling products and services with specialized expertise in Mitsubishi Electric technology.
  • EPA Section 608 certification.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency of mechanical and electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal communication skills required to communicate with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Developed leadership skills to direct work of others on-site and in emergency situations.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and MRP/ERP business systems.
