About the position

The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance functions on gas compression packages, including troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of both gas-fired and electric-driven compressor packages. This role requires a high level of expertise and the ability to work independently while providing exceptional customer service and leadership to junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company professionally while providing outstanding customer service.
• Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork daily.
• Direct, coordinate, and perform job activities consistent with project goals and objectives.
• Provide leadership and training to new and junior level Field Technicians.
• Diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently.
• Provide input to Supervisor on personnel and materials needs for optimal job planning.
• Lead and complete rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls in the field with no supervision.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of electrical systems and unit control panels.
• Complete advanced engine tuning functions to adjust performance and emissions.
• Respond to and repair recurring problems and emergency services independently.
• Lead installation of new units including commissioning and start-up inspections with no supervision.
• Perform mechanical inspections using diagnostic equipment and specialty tools independently.
• Be on a call-out rotation and make emergency repairs as needed.
• Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and advanced vocational/technical training.
• 10+ years applicable experience in the field.
• Proof of certification from CAT/Waukesha (or equivalent) in multiple areas including CAT Gas I, CAT Gas II, and others as specified.
