About the position

Lumen Technologies is seeking a visionary and skilled Film Editor to join our dynamic In-House Film Production Company. Our team specializes in creating high-impact documentaries, animated explainers, and other compelling video content that resonates both internally and externally. As a Film Editor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual narrative of our projects. You will be responsible for transforming raw footage into polished, engaging content by incorporating sound effects, music, graphics, and animations. Your work will be widely viewed and will significantly influence our brand's storytelling. You will report directly to the Film Editorial Creative Lead and collaborate closely with senior leaders, Creative Directors, Producers, Graphic Designers, Motion Artists, and Cinematographers. To excel in this role, you must possess a keen eye for detail, a passion for storytelling, and a strong sense of visual aesthetics. Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer to edit raw footage into cohesive, high-quality video content.
  • Add sound effects, music, voice-over, graphics, and animations to elevate the overall production value.
  • Guarantee that the final video content is coherent, engaging, and aligns with the client's brief and objectives.
  • Work closely with Senior Leaders such as Creative Directors, Producers, Graphic Designers, Motion Artists, and Cinematographers to produce top-tier video content.
  • Report to the Lead Editor / Head of Post Production, incorporating their feedback and instructions to refine the final product.
  • Efficiently manage and organize video files and assets to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and techniques in video editing and production to continuously improve the quality of your work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Media, Communication, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Editor in a film production company, agency, or similar environment.
  • A portfolio showcasing your editing skills and creative vision.
  • Expertise in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer, and knowledge of sound design, music, graphics, and animation software like Adobe Audition, After Effects, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, storytelling, and visual aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
