About the position

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial health of the organization by performing in-depth financial analysis and modeling to provide actionable insights to business leaders. This position is responsible for leading the preparation of annual budgets and interim financial projections, ensuring that the organization remains on track with its financial goals. The analyst will provide monthly financial and operations reporting to business leaders, comparing actual performance against the budget and prior year results, while offering key commentary on any material variances observed. Additionally, the role involves analyzing, interpreting, and communicating key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial variances to management, which is essential for informed decision-making. In this position, the Senior Financial Planning Analyst will work collaboratively across the organization to set financial and operational goals, establishing KPIs that drive business results. Monitoring, tracking, and reporting progress towards these goals and KPIs is a critical function of the role. The analyst will also be responsible for providing ad-hoc analysis and reports as requested by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other business leaders, ensuring that they have the necessary information to make strategic decisions. Leading the annual financial budget process and providing monthly updated financial forecasts are key responsibilities, along with delivering monthly cross-functional sales, operations, and financial reporting. Furthermore, the analyst will support quarter-end SEC filings and earnings call preparation, contributing to the overall financial governance of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a high attention to detail, and expertise in creating financial models. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential, as well as strong presentation skills to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders. An energetic and positive attitude, a customer-driven approach, and the ability to work independently while prioritizing tasks to meet commitments and deadlines are also important attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis and modeling to provide actionable information to business leaders.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and interim financial projections.
  • Provide monthly financial and operations reporting to business leaders with comparisons to Budget and Prior Year with key commentary on material variances.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate KPI and financial variances to management.
  • Prepare executive and board level presentations.
  • Assist with periodic updates to investor presentations and other business-related matters.
  • Work collaboratively within the organization to set financial and operational goals.
  • Establish KPIs that drive business results.
  • Monitor, track, and report progress towards the goals and KPIs.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reports as requested by CFO and other business leaders.
  • Lead the annual financial budget process.
  • Provide monthly updated financial forecasts.
  • Provide monthly cross-functional sales, operations, and financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 3+ years of similar experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
