About the position
The Senior Finance Analyst plays a crucial role in the financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for Scott County's Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This position requires significant interaction with various business units to prepare and present financial information effectively, ensuring compliance with GAAP and GASB standards. The analyst will contribute to the annual budget process, analyze financial impacts of decisions, and stay updated on accounting rule changes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial, analytical, and associated reporting requirements of fixed assets within the audited Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) process.
- Keep current on new accounting standards and state statutes, determining their impact on Scott County and assisting with implementation.
- Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures are being followed.
- Perform complex financial analysis on County programs for reporting and presentation to the Board of County Commissioners.
- Provide financial and analytical support for the compensation, budgeting, and forecasting process.
- Work the necessary days and hours to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks, ensuring availability for communication with stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Equivalency of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
- Two years' experience in a budget/financial reporting environment.
- Reliable form of transportation for the performance of work responsibilities.
- Certified Public Accountant license and knowledge/training in GAAP and GASB desired.
