Essential Functions include collaborating closely with business units to understand their complex enterprise data needs, including financial, strategic, and enterprise-wide operational data, and translating requirements into effective analytical solutions. The role serves as a high-level technical resource with multiple data sources and tools to construct and maintain complex financial reporting requests for business units and company initiatives enterprise-wide. The candidate will apply business acumen and understanding of financial concepts to improve end-solutions and accuracy of reporting. The position involves collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data sets, financial information, and statistical data through various sources such as Power BI, Workday, and other BI tools, to support and drive business performance and desired outcomes. The candidate will develop interactive dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders and drive data-informed decisions for the business, including enterprise-wide projects. Additionally, the role requires partnering with stakeholders to determine business objectives, critical metrics, and performance management methods. The candidate will present findings and provide recommendations to Finance and stakeholder leadership to further improve company strategic performance. Translating business requirements into technical specifications is essential for enabling the effective implementation of reports and dashboards from diverse data sources. The candidate will integrate data from diverse sources regarding complex enterprise-wide projects, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. Utilizing a high-level understanding of EMC's business objectives, the candidate will develop, maintain, and optimize semi-complex data models, data marts, and schemas to support reporting and analysis across the enterprise. Proactively addressing data quality issues identified to maintain data integrity, including collaborating with IT as appropriate, is also a key responsibility. Performing data querying and transformations within SQL to compile correct data, developing, enhancing, and maintaining both standard and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for enterprise-wide financial and operational data, and continuously monitoring assigned report and dashboard performance to implement optimizations for efficiency are also part of the role. The candidate will provide training and support to empower end-users for self-service data access and analysis, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to review, further define, and prioritize all assigned intake requests, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Finally, delivering timely and relevant data-driven insights that inform and support strategic decision-making processes is crucial.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, MIS, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in financial analysis, business operations analysis, or data analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Financial planning and analysis and data visualization background preferred.
  • Excellent skills with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Qlik.
  • Strong knowledge of data management, data modeling, and data integration concepts.
  • Strong understanding of financial and business concepts.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL for efficient data querying, transformation, and analysis.
