About the position

The Senior Finance Manager - Azure deal and Cloud Economic role is a pivotal position within the Cloud Economic and Strategic Partnership Team, focusing on leading significant Azure deals and projects. This role is responsible for defining competitive strategies and business cases to foster successful long-term partnerships across various industry verticals. The position requires a blend of technical, financial, and business expertise to develop financial business cases related to complex IT environments and cloud migration strategies, while also serving as a subject matter expert in cloud economics and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with the Field, Field Finance, Business Development, and Engineering to develop cloud business cases/financial models for strategic customers.
  • Engaging with internal and external executives to articulate the outcomes of financial analyses, synthesizing complex analyses simply to provide clarity on cloud partnership terms and financial outcomes.
  • Partnering with Business Development, Strategic Sales, Engineering, and other teams to guide healthy Azure partnerships.
  • Leading customer discussions and finding creative ways to maximize the probability of winning deals, focusing on ROI and controlled risk.
  • Developing robust financial models to evaluate complex transactions and determine negotiation guardrails.
  • Guiding approval processes with executives and articulating deal business cases.
  • Developing frameworks to accelerate, simplify, and scale Azure's deal-making processes.
  • Defining competitive strategies, influencing sales policies, and product roadmaps.
  • Continuously learning about Cloud services, infrastructure, operations, go-to-market strategies, and long-term cloud economics.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring the accuracy of financial documents and business processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, enabling simple communication of complex topics.
  • Analytical skills and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty in a business that evolves at a fast pace.
  • Comfort working at multiple altitudes, from strategic/high-level projects to detailed analysis.
  • Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project results through both individual and v-team efforts.
  • Partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and appropriately push back when required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • High level of self-motivation; ability to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and resourcefulness to get things done.
