About the position

The Senior Finance Manager-Cloud and Artificial Intelligence Engineering position is a critical role within the Margin Strategy and Investment Optimization (MSIO) organization. This role focuses on driving cloud and AI capacity, margin excellence, and resource allocation across a significant portfolio. The successful candidate will partner closely with engineering leaders to ensure that over $20 billion in resources are aligned with strategic engineering priorities, while also developing a CFO mindset to influence leadership in expense management and resource allocation decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance and Engineering teams to manage internal usage of the Azure Cloud platform for R&D spending, driving efficiencies and delivering insights.
  • Provide strategic leadership to top Engineering and Finance leaders to drive operating leverage through resource allocation and investment optimization.
  • Drive process excellence while partnering across Engineering and Finance to assess the overall health of the business and identify opportunities, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Build a cohesive story by incorporating business insights through resource allocation and workforce planning, understanding the connection between resource allocation and overall financial performance.
  • Own, maintain, and improve resource allocation across Engineering teams globally, publishing executive-grade monthly resource summaries and delivering resource reviews with Finance leaders.
  • Leverage holistic analytical frameworks and best practices across Finance to spot and anticipate trends, delivering insights to unlock greater efficiencies for resource allocation and investment spending.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field.
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance, or related field.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to influence and impact without authority, operate in ambiguity, and solve difficult problems in a dynamic and matrixed environment.
  • Proven communication and presentation skills, able to present complex financial issues to non-finance executives.
  • Proven interpersonal and cross-group collaboration skills, with the ability to drive consensus in a complex environment.
  • Proven technical skills, including excellent Excel skills; Power BI and SQL skills preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing complex financial models, with excellent quantitative analysis and forecasting skills.
