About the position

The Senior Finance Manager, Corporate Close & Consolidation, plays a crucial role within NBCUniversal's Global Close & Consolidation team, focusing on managing the close and consolidation processes for various business units. This position requires strong relationship management skills and oversight of a Finance Analyst, ensuring effective collaboration with high-impact stakeholders. The role involves handling FX remeasurement and translation processes, providing financial expertise, and contributing to the development of a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's FX remeasurement and translation processes
  • Partner with business units to resolve FX issues and questions; lead business unit training
  • Oversee the intracompany process (including master data and reconciliation)
  • Manage the data submission and reconciliation process with Comcast
  • Partner with the business and broader finance community to provide financial expertise on projects
  • Participate in discussions related to functional design, system controls, and requirements from a finance/controllership perspective
  • Help build a strong Close and Consolidation team that strives for high standards of performance and service delivery to the various Business Units
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis (including for non-finance departments)
  • Assist immediate team in LA and London as needed (e.g., close and consolidation procedures, ad hoc projects, etc.)
  • Oversee the tasks performed by Senior Finance Analyst
  • Intracompany AP / AR elimination
  • Validations / checks run to ensure transactions are properly recorded in the ledger
  • Derivative accounting ensuring compliance with ASC 815/820
  • Performing reconciliations between NBCU and Comcast ledgers
  • Manage the relationship with Accenture and ensure all outsourced accounting activities are performed as agreed
  • Any other responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in finance or accounting (preferred ACA, ACCA, CIMA, US CPA qualified)
  • 5+ years of professional working experience in finance and/or accounting within a large multinational organization
  • Sound technical accounting experience, including comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, UK GAAP, IFRS etc.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills to quickly resolve unique, complex and challenging issues
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrates ownership of responsibilities and dedication to quality
  • Proficient user of financial accounting systems and highly competent in Excel; ideally SAP experience / SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office Excel (AOE) knowledge
  • Demonstrate solid influential and communication skills across different disciplines and cultures
  • Possess high level of personal and professional integrity
  • Ability to work in a fast, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities and challenging stakeholders
  • Experience of managing direct reports
