About the position

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in our Corporate Finance division. As the Senior Finance Manager, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership to the Corporate organizations, driving value creation and ensuring insightful, forward-looking forecasting. Specifically, this position manages the Rolling LBE, Confirm, month end close, and OEM consolidation processes for the Corporate groups which includes oversight of the Corporate planning system, analytics, corporate reporting, and standardization. The position also leads the talent pipeline for new Corporate FP&A hires by managing the CFP&A Resource Center (CFRC) team, Spring/Fall co-ops, including on-boarding, system, and process training and coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Accurate Financial Forecasts: Ensure short and long-term financial forecasts are presented in a meaningful way and of very high quality.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee processes to deliver clear and consistent forecasting and reporting of the organization's cost and value while aligning financial impacts across Abbott in a transparent manner.
  • Foresee potential opportunities/risk and prepare contingency plans.
  • Drive Results: Evaluate and drive innovative value creation and initiatives for continuous, measurable improvements.
  • Support execution of key strategic programs, corporate initiative action plans and related results.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including activities to be moved to Shared Services.
  • Oversee Planning System and other analytical tools: Oversee Planning System and consolidation process.
  • Identify enhancements and implement as approved.
  • Develop overall data and analytics strategy.
  • Develop Talent: Oversee Corporate FP&A Talent pipeline for new hires and Spring/Fall co-ops, including recruiting, on-boarding, training, and on-going support.
  • Manage multiple new hires with frequent movement to new assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8+ years accounting and financial planning experience.
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred.
  • Proficient with financial modeling, systems, tools including Excel, Hyperion Essbase and SAP.
