About the position

The Senior Finance Manager at CIPE is responsible for overseeing the annual administrative budget process, monthly departmental reporting, indirect cost negotiations, and consolidated financial reporting. This role requires collaboration with various departments to ensure effective financial management and compliance with policies and procedures, while also providing analytical support to the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual indirect cost budget process and collaborate with administrative departments.
  • Develop and monitor the indirect cost budget, providing leadership on decision-making issues.
  • Consolidate organizational budgets for CFO review and approval.
  • Perform budget versus actual analysis, explain variances, and suggest cost-saving methods.
  • Track and forecast NICRA rate fluctuations and assist in negotiating the NICRA rate.
  • Approve vendor contract budgets and ensure availability of funds for contracts.
  • Assist in managing financial management and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to produce and analyze monthly consolidated financial statements.
  • Perform operating lease accounting and fixed assets depreciation.
  • Monitor and reconcile expense accounts and assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Assist with annual audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience in nonprofit finance with knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience with nonprofit budgeting processes and annual audits.
  • Knowledge of Federal Cost Principles (2 CFR 200).
  • Experience negotiating NICRA rates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
