About the position

The principle purpose of the Senior Finance Manager, Supply Chain FP&A role is to partner with business leaders across various sectors including US Home Improvement, Central Dispatch Office, Allied Businesses, and Shared Services. This position is pivotal in driving value creation through financial and business leadership, from the development of strategies to their execution. The role involves identifying prospective markets and potential opportunities, which is crucial for the company's growth and sustainability. In this capacity, the Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting both business unit and enterprise scenario planning. This includes developing long-range scenario models and recommending measurement plans, analytics, and coordinated functional scorecards. The manager will oversee a team of financial analysts who provide functional support to business units, ensuring that financial best practices are implemented, reported, and analyzed to derive insights for decision-making. The role also requires leveraging the Financial Centers of Expertise to provide financial insights that aid in decision-making, identifying financial risks and opportunities, and analyzing performance drivers. The Senior Finance Manager will partner with senior leadership, including SVPs and VPs, to provide financial insights, recommendations, and best practices that facilitate effective resource allocation decisions. Additionally, the manager will prepare and communicate deliverables to senior management and the Board of Directors, linking strategy and intent to financial outcomes and measures of success. The position involves researching identified issues, reporting findings, suggesting alternative courses of action, and continuously seeking process improvements. The manager will guide business units through financial planning and forecasting processes, ensuring that projected financial outcomes from business plans are accurately planned and forecasted. Furthermore, the role includes selecting, hiring, and developing talent to maintain a productive and engaged workforce, overseeing the building of processes and enterprise score-carding to measure the overall health of Lowe's financial portfolio, and supporting the development of the long-range plan for the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of financial analysts providing functional support to business units.
  • Implement and follow financial best practices, reporting, and analysis to identify insights for decision making.
  • Leverage Financial Centers of Expertise to provide financial insights for decision making and performance analysis.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights, recommendations, and best practices for resource allocation decisions.
  • Prepare and communicate deliverables to senior management and the Board of Directors regarding financial outcomes and measures of success.
  • Research issues, report findings, and suggest alternative courses of action while seeking process improvements.
  • Guide business units through financial planning and forecasting processes using appropriate data elements.
  • Coordinate with other areas of Finance to ensure accurate financial projections from business plans.
  • Select, hire, and develop talent to ensure a productive workforce.
  • Oversee the building of processes and enterprise score-carding to measure the financial portfolio's health.
  • Support the development of the long-range plan for the enterprise, including scenario analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in finance or analytical role.
  • 2+ years of experience in strategic and financial modeling.
  • 3+ years of experience leading people directly or indirectly.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial modeling and strategy consulting for business.
  • Experience performing advanced data modeling, data mining and exploratory data analysis (e.g., linear/logistic regression, ARIMA, Cluster Analysis).
  • Experience leading cross-functionally on enterprise initiatives.
  • Experience working in a big box/large retailer.
  • Experience working at a Fortune 500 company.
  • CPA, CFA, CMA certification.
