About the position

The Senior Finance Operations Analyst position at Allegheny Health Network is a critical role that supports the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Jefferson Hospital in overseeing the financial performance of the facility. This position is designed to work closely with operational leaders to ensure they have the necessary access to financial reporting and training to make informed operational and financial decisions. The analyst will collaborate with corporate finance teams to ensure that the financial processes and policies of the hospital align with corporate standards. Additionally, the role involves providing insights to both hospital and corporate leadership regarding the financial drivers that impact the hospital's performance. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for the initial population of standard financial and volume data specific to the hospital for monthly financial reports, analysis, and presentations to leadership. This includes providing initial inputs on themes and outcomes for the month and working with corporate finance teams to integrate these into the overall narrative of the hospital's monthly results. The analyst will also track and approve position requests, working with the Workforce Management Office to review and approve open positions. The Senior Finance Operations Analyst will support operational managers with Kronos reporting, partnering with corporate teams to understand productivity standards and how they align with hospital operations. This position serves as a liaison between clinical and operational managers, particularly when issues arise with purchasing and invoicing. The analyst will also run basic profitability reports using Tableau and Strata, utilizing these tools to support the hospital's analytic needs and collaborating with Decision Support on these requirements. Furthermore, the analyst will work with the corporate budget team and onsite leadership to validate budget assumptions and ensure the final budget submission is accurate. They will collaborate with department managers to document and track capital requests through the capital process, ensuring that the hospital's capital plans align with the overall AHN Capital Plan. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and multifaceted role within the finance department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for initial population of standard financial and volume data in hospital specific for monthly financial reports, analysis, and presentations to hospital and network leadership.
  • Track / approve position requests and work with Workforce Management Office to review and approve open positions.
  • Support operational managers with Kronos reporting and partner with corporate to understand productivity standards.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical and operational managers when issues occur with purchasing, invoicing, etc.
  • Run basic profitability reports from Tableau / Strata and collaborate with Decision Support on hospital analytic needs.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in finance or accounting role
  • 3 years in the healthcare industry, particularly as it relates to hospitals or other providers
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, statistics, or related field (OR) 6 years of related and progressive experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various types of data including financial results, operational metrics, clinical outcomes, and other key datasets
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and manage time effectively, in order to meet established deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop partnerships across the organization
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, and drives progress on major projects without being asked or with minimal supervision.
