The Sr. Financial Analyst - Subsidiary Controllership will be a key member of a small team driving the development and execution of programs, policies, and controls that promote the operational health of Amazon's acquired subsidiaries. This role involves partnering with subsidiary businesses to identify financial and operational risks, and working to mitigate those risks through improvements to services and technologies. The Sr. Financial Analyst will develop programs and processes that eliminate the need for policy exceptions and will help subsidiaries deliver on action plans that address risk in their finance operations. This position encourages a culture of controllership and risk management through ongoing communication and education to subsidiary and Finance partners. Successful candidates will thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment. They must have a passion for developing solutions to complex problems and be able to persevere and influence in the face of disagreement. The role requires experience in process design, project management, continuous improvement, and change management across functions and geographies. The Sr. Financial Analyst will deliver measurable results that balance financial controllership with operational productivity. Key responsibilities include assessing risk in subsidiary finance transactional processes, executing quarterly subsidiary controls, and delivering a subsidiary risk assessment that identifies areas of concern, trending issues, and program/policy recommendations. The analyst will understand the subsidiary business and its operational and strategic priorities, driving action and innovation to improve business processes and controls in a pragmatic, cost-effective way for fast-growing businesses. They will also identify and drive resolution of any control issues, share best practices, publish dashboards, and follow up on completion of key controls tasks. Additionally, the analyst will analyze defect root causes, propose remediation strategies, and monitor remediation actions while ensuring ongoing regulatory and Amazon policy compliance by acquired subsidiaries.
