About the position

Welcome to Amazon Music, where ideas are born and come to life as Amazon Music Unlimited, Amazon Music Prime, Amazon Music Free, Digital Music Store, Physical Music, Tour and Artist Merch, and Livestreaming. Amazon.com is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst in the Amazon Music Financial Planning and Analysis team. In partnership with business, operations, and tech teams throughout Amazon Music, this position will drive strategic initiatives to improve financial reporting and customer experience through automation, process improvements, and defects prevention. This role will engage with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive results and provide meaningful insight. The right candidate will have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. They will need to possess strong leadership skills and solid business acumen capable of driving results and improving processes. They will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. This position is located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle.

Responsibilities

  • Driving planning and budgeting and related deliverables, ensuring financial discipline and compliance.
  • Preparing financial metrics, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Managing and executing entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish.
  • Providing controllership over several variable costs of the business.
  • Anticipating business requirements, trends, and variances; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of negative variances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • 2+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
  • MBA, or CPA.
  • Knowledge of Tableau.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
