About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst role within the AWS Crypto Finance team at Amazon is a high-visibility position that directly influences the financial planning and analysis for a successful cloud computing business. This role involves collaborating with various business partners to provide insightful financial analysis, drive financial planning and budgeting activities, and communicate financial risks and opportunities. The successful candidate will implement core financial processes and refine capacity planning to enhance Free Cash Flow.

Responsibilities

  • Influencing business partner decisions through education and collaboration on marginal costs, pricing, customer adoption, etc.
  • Collaborating with business partners to build and maintain detailed cost models by product/service.
  • Driving financial planning and budgeting activities.
  • Preparing and providing financial reporting, including communicating future financial risks and opportunities to the business.
  • Developing and standardizing financial reporting.
  • Working on ad-hoc financial analyses and projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
  • 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
  • MBA, or CPA.
  • Knowledge of Tableau.
  • 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
  • Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer.
