About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst will join the AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) team, providing essential analytical support to one of AWS's largest and most strategic businesses. This role focuses on improving financial reporting, solving business problems through analysis, and enhancing operational quality through data management.

Responsibilities

• Own existing reporting suite, identifying and implementing procedural improvements
• Solve ad-hoc business problems through financial analysis and modeling
• Invent new reporting to drive continual financial and business improvement
• Deep dive data quality issues as needed to improve operational quality

Requirements

• 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Nice-to-haves

• MBA, or CPA
• Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis
• 4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
