About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst role within AWS Finance focuses on supporting the Networking Finance FP&A team. This position involves facilitating key investment decisions, enhancing financial processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and decision-making. The role is designed for self-starters who thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and are eager to contribute to the growth of AWS.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating financial review meetings with senior business and finance leadership to support decision making.
• Maintaining and improving existing finance processes to ensure data integrity and efficient analysis.
• Playing a critical role in cost management, controllership, business case development, decision-making, and metrics development.
• Building financial models, interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations that deliver results and drive improvements.
• Driving controllership around new initiatives such as Generative AI investments, automation projects, and technology transition initiatives reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
• 3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
• 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
• 2+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.
• MBA or CPA.
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
