About the position

AWS Finance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Networking Finance FP&A team. This role involves supporting key investment decisions, developing controllership around various FP&A processes, and supporting new initiatives. The position requires collaboration with diverse teams and offers opportunities for career growth within the rapidly expanding AWS environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating financial review meetings with senior business and finance leadership to support decision making.
• Maintaining and improving existing finance processes to ensure data integrity and efficient analysis.
• Playing a critical role in cost management, controllership, business case development, decision-making, and metrics development.
• Building financial models, interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations that deliver results and drive improvements.
• Driving controllership around new initiatives such as Generative AI investments, automation projects, and technology transition initiatives reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field.
• 3+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
• 2+ years of experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
• 2+ years of experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• 4+ years of experience participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
