About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst position at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital involves advanced financial analysis and provides lead assistance in preparing and administering the annual operating budget and capital plan. The role requires analyzing budget requests from various departments, making recommendations on spending levels, and developing presentations for key stakeholders. The analyst will also conduct fiscal impact analyses, monitor budget implementation, and ensure compliance with the strategic plan of Cook County Health & Hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee work product of Financial Analysts and act as a subject matter expert for financial analysts and department heads.
• Provide lead assistance with the preparation and administration of the annual operating budget and annual capital plan.
• Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets for key data utilized in research and analysis.
• Analyze data and evaluate results to determine solutions for internal financial weaknesses.
• Prepare presentation materials to brief key stakeholders.
• Conduct research and analysis related to governmental organization finances, including data collection and benchmarking.
• Conduct complex fiscal impact analysis and prepare reports and recommendations.
• Develop constructive relationships with internal departments and external agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting processes.
• Experience in preparing and administering operating budgets and capital plans.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial and statistical data.
• Ability to develop presentations and brief key stakeholders effectively.
• Experience in conducting fiscal impact analysis.
