About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, reporting to the Vice President, Business FP&A, will play a critical role in analyzing, understanding, and communicating key drivers of financial performance across Ventas, with a focus on the outpatient medical and research (OMR) business. This position is responsible for analyzing variances to plan and forecast updates, managing a wide variety of management and external reporting, and tracking Ventas's consolidated capital expenditures and forward capital commitments. The role will collaborate closely with multiple functions throughout the organization, from Investments to Asset Management, providing consolidated financial information to leaders to inform strategic decision-making and support key strategic initiatives. The successful individual will combine advanced analytical skills with focused critical reasoning to convert raw data into insightful financial analysis, driving the company's strategic goals and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with earnings preparation (including consolidated NOI growth and Q&A for the earnings call), Monthly Business Reviews, investor relations requests and other management and external reporting.
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly capital expenditure results as part of the financial review and earnings processes. Aggregate and report on any forecast changes for future capital commitments.
  • Engage with the Asset Management and Investments teams on their capital budgets/forecasts, reporting & tracking vs. actual spend; help management understand the key risks and opportunities to staying within published guidance.
  • Collaborate with multiple functions throughout the organization, including Accounting, Construction & Development and IT, in order to prepare information for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Provide overall analytic support as needed to Asset Management teams and senior management on key strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a corporate finance or FP&A role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the healthcare or real estate industry is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting software and ERP systems.
