About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst in Corporate FP&A at Helen of Troy plays a crucial role in achieving the organization's financial goals through comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis. This position is integral to supporting fact-based decision-making across various departments and product lines. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial information to produce forecasts and annual plans, focusing on cost centers, product lines, and international markets. This role requires the ability to draw out key insights and themes through detailed analysis, ensuring that findings are effectively communicated to both immediate and senior leadership. In addition to ongoing and ad-hoc analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst will lead key business partnerships with cross-functional leaders to drive financial stewardship. Establishing an annual budget in collaboration with responsible cost center owners is essential, as is adhering to the overall strategic vision of the organization. The analyst will lead all aspects of ongoing cost center variance analysis and reporting, conducting monthly review meetings to understand key variance drivers and managing quarterly cost center forecasts. The role also involves preparing internal monthly and quarterly reports for distribution, including sales by customer, product lines, and international markets, as well as generating an internal management reporting package and supporting external reporting requirements. As a subject matter expert in Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) and Hyperion reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst will understand and improve the OBI system for both standard and ad hoc reporting, while also crafting and maintaining reporting in FRS. The position requires a strong ability to prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information discrepancies, ensuring that journal entries are established and sent to corporate accounting in a timely manner. This role is pivotal in supporting the financial health and strategic direction of Helen of Troy's diverse brand portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis to support decision-making.
  • Analyze financial information to produce forecasts and annual plans for cost centers, product lines, and international markets.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) and Hyperion reporting, improving systems for reporting needs.
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a finance position.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills with the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with an executive presence.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of projects.
