About the position

The Sr. Financial Analyst, Corporate FP&A position at Align Technology is a pivotal role that supports the Global Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) processes. This position is integral to the strategic planning, annual operating plan, and quarterly forecasts, requiring the analyst to rationalize inputs and provide constructive feedback. The role emphasizes the importance of developing strong relationships across various departments while maintaining an objective perspective in evaluating their collective performance. The analyst will collaborate with Global FP&A teams to provide insights, metrics, and reporting on financials, ensuring that the financial data is accurate and actionable. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for internal financial reporting and ensuring data accuracy. They will participate in updating the monthly financial reporting package for senior management and ensure that the calendar and processes for the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts are clearly communicated and deadlines are met effectively. The analyst will assist in driving the global finance team to complete business deliverables related to forecasting, reporting, budgeting, and other corporate requirements. Additionally, they will prepare financial presentations for the Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and C-level executives, and will be responsible for balance sheet and cash flow forecasting. The analyst will analyze corporate spending against forecasts and budgets, recommending opportunities for savings. They will create tools and templates for the Finance team to standardize inputs for consolidation and will leverage their experience to improve and automate processes with minimal supervision. The role also involves supporting the global Finance team with analysis and ad-hoc financial projects as necessary, managing the close and forecast calendar, and maintaining metadata and SOX controls as needed. Furthermore, the analyst will design, build, and test automated financial reports and models using various reporting tools, ensuring that the financial reporting processes are efficient and effective.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for internal financial reporting and data accuracy
  • Participate in updating the monthly financial reporting package for senior management as needed
  • Ensure calendar and process for annual operating plan and quarterly forecasts are clearly communicated and deadlines effectively met
  • Assist in driving the global finance team to complete business deliverables for forecasting, reporting, budgeting, and other corporate requirements
  • Assist in preparing the BOD, Audit Committee, and all C-level financial presentations
  • Responsible for balance sheet and cash flow forecasting
  • Analyze corporate spending against forecast and budget and recommend opportunities for savings
  • Create tools and templates for Finance team to drive standardize inputs for consolidation
  • Ability to use experience and skillset to improve and automate areas with minimal supervision
  • Support the global Finance team with analysis and ad-hoc financial projects where necessary
  • Publish and manage close and forecast calendar and communication
  • Effectively partner and communicate across the business organization
  • Metadata maintenance, and SOX control as needed
  • Design, build, and test automated financial reports and models using various reporting tools

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a financial analyst in FP&A role in a public company with annual revenue greater than $2B
  • Experience in Corporate FP&A group is preferred
  • Strong understanding of the accounting equation and financial statements
  • CPA, MBA is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and have a positive 'can-do' attitude
  • Self-motivated to develop & learn on/off the job
  • Strong desire to work with the team to improve existing processes/reports
  • Team player with experience working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Experience working with cross functional and global teams and be able to be flexible and/or accommodate regional time differences
  • Work independently with minimal supervision under tight deadlines
  • Able to question the status quo and influence others
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills required
  • Strong database query skills
  • Strong experience in building models in MS Excel
