About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst - Debt/Capital Markets will be part of a high-performing treasury team at Indiana University Health, responsible for managing a balance sheet of over $8 billion in cash and investments and over $2 billion in outstanding debt. This role focuses on supporting debt and derivatives transactions, optimizing capital structure, and maintaining strong relationships with market participants to ensure efficient access to capital. The analyst will also handle financial modeling, compliance reporting, and internal and external financial disclosures.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in managing capital structure through financial modeling of debt and derivatives transactions.
  • Coordinating financing activity and documentation.
  • Ensuring payment of all debt, swap, intercompany loan, and related fee payments on a regular basis.
  • Acting as a liaison with banks, counsel, trustees, financial advisors, and auditors.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert related to credit metrics and bond ratings.
  • Preparing rating agency presentations and related analysis.
  • Supporting internal and external financial disclosures, audit, and compliance requirements.
  • Preparing periodic and ad hoc reports for management reporting and policy compliance.
  • Performing data preparation and analysis of annual interest on debt for budgets and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 2+ years of relevant financial and operational analysis experience required.
  • Analytical experience working with complex data sets required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products/applications, especially strong Microsoft Excel experience required.
  • Relational database and financial or operational modeling experience a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intellectually curious with interest and experience in capital markets, municipal financial analysis, accounting, derivatives, financial markets, and/or debt instruments and structures.
  • Familiarity with municipal finance legal documentation, financial covenants, compliance, and general accounting concepts.
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of ownership.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and tools such as Oracle Cloud, Oracle Smart View, Bloomberg, and GTreasury.
