Amazon's North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Finance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a trusted finance partner for Defect Cost Controllership (DCC). This role is pivotal in supporting operational and functional leaders within one of the most complex retail networks globally, which delivers billions of packages to millions of homes and businesses each year. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team focused on operational and financial excellence, emphasizing ownership and continuous improvement in processes. The NACF DCC finance team aims to provide cost controllership, project return on investment (ROI), and financial insights for defect reduction initiatives across the supply chain. This involves translating operational KPIs into financial impacts, ensuring stakeholders have reliable information for decision-making. The role requires a proactive approach to learning and navigating complex ambiguities, fostering an environment where innovative thinking and process simplification are essential. Key responsibilities include end-to-end ownership of financial planning cycles, which encompass forecast modeling, bridging, and presenting to senior leadership. The analyst will perform financial validations for projects to ensure accurate ROI insights, collect and analyze quantitative data, and create meaningful reports that drive business improvement and defect cost reduction strategies. Additionally, the role involves conducting root cause analyses to identify core issues and collaborating with operational stakeholders to enhance productivity measures. The analyst will also be responsible for inventing and simplifying processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs related to defects. Effective communication skills are crucial, as the analyst will need to articulate complex financial issues clearly to various audiences and manage competing priorities while providing strategic guidance. The DCC team focuses on finance controllership, cost savings, and end-to-end defect cost reduction across NACF. The primary responsibilities include identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and financial controllership. The team plays a significant role in decision-making, developing financial insights for monthly and quarterly business reviews, and conducting ad-hoc analyses on large or ambiguous deliverables. The position requires supporting multiple workstreams or projects, with an expected travel requirement of up to 20% throughout the year.
