About the position

Disney Entertainment Television (DETV) is a dynamic and innovative division that creates award-winning content across a diverse portfolio of television brands and businesses, including ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Branded Television, FX and FX Studios, Freeform, Nat Geo, and Hulu Originals. The Shared Services FP&A Team plays a crucial role in managing the financials for DETV's centralized Business Operations departments and segment overhead costs/allocations. This position is integral to the forecasting and planning processes for these groups, requiring close collaboration with leaders to support their financial needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong relationship-building, communication, and analytical skills, along with excellent systems and time management capabilities, and a keen attention to detail. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a key team member responsible for the execution, financial review, consolidation, and submission of departmental forecasts, the Annual Operating Plan, and the Long-Range Plan. You will serve as the primary contact for Shared Services department leaders and will liaise with Corporate and other segment partners to understand external cost allocations into DETV. This role also involves partnering with finance and accounting teams to effectively communicate allocations and explain variances against forecasts. Additionally, you will support DETV's capital planning and forecasting efforts, proactively driving improvements in existing financial planning models and processes. Your expertise in financial systems such as SAP, Cognos TM1, and Nevarro will be essential in providing support both within the team and to partners as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Execute financial review, consolidation, and submission of departmental forecasts, Annual Operating Plan, and Long-Range Plan.
  • Serve as the key contact for Shared Services department leaders.
  • Liaise with Corporate and other segment partners to understand external cost allocations into DETV.
  • Partner with DETV finance and accounting teams to communicate allocations and explain variances vs. forecast.
  • Support DETV capital planning and forecasting efforts.
  • Drive improvements in existing financial planning models and processes.
  • Provide financial systems support within the team and to partners as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years relevant work experience, preferably in FP&A within the entertainment industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and strategic mindset.
  • Advanced technical skills with applications/systems including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Cognos TM1 and Nevarro is a plus.
  • Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Deliverable-focused with a strong work ethic, able to prioritize and resolve multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build productive partner relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the entertainment industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, Cognos TM1, and Nevarro.
