About the position

The Finance role at Disney Music Group (DMG) involves performing financial responsibilities such as budgeting, forecasting, project modeling, and variance analysis. The position emphasizes collaboration with various teams to drive strategic insights and enhance operations in a dynamic environment. The role requires flexibility and adaptability to the evolving music industry landscape, focusing on financial support for Disney Concerts and Licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly forecast & close, and 5-Year strategic planning for Disney Concerts and Licensing.
  • Collaborate with internal finance team members and accounting to improve the Concerts planning process and validate forecasting assumptions.
  • Work closely with the Concerts / Business Affairs team on creating Produced Concerts P&L Budgets.
  • Prepare Concerts summary and various investigative analyses for Senior Management.
  • Act as the lead Finance partner to the Concerts team, providing financial support and challenging the status quo.
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting in support of the Concerts business.
  • Provide data-driven analysis to pursue strategic insights.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of finance or accounting experience with a keen interest in Entertainment / Music.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with advanced Excel modeling skills required.
  • Experience in enterprise-level systems such as SAP, Cognos, Business Objects, Tableau, or Alteryx.
  • Strong working knowledge of key accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a constructive curiosity to lead change.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to autonomously and diplomatically work through problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility in role and duties given the evolving music industry landscape.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other quantitative field required.
