About the position

Nordstrom is seeking a results-oriented and driven Senior Financial Analyst to join our E2E Stores Finance Team supporting our Nordstrom & Rack Store leadership teams. This experienced individual will be highly equipped in financial modeling and critical thinking skills, will demonstrate effective communication through regular business partnership, and will utilize strong attention to detail to distill analysis for all levels of the business. This person will play a critical role in supporting our 300+ store-level teams across the country, promoting the growth of financial acumen in our store counterparts through helping them run strong and profitable businesses. This Senior Financial Analyst challenges standard operating procedures in pursuit of a more innovative, collaborative, efficient, and winning team, and welcomes the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will support the Store business in financial accountability from sales to bottom line profitability through weekly/monthly processes & continuous planning including partnership with store teams and across finance. You will play a key role in assessing the financial performance of the Store business, by analyzing and understanding key drivers of that performance through KPIs, and providing insights to Store Leaders to help drive decision making on areas of opportunity and improvement. Additionally, you will perform ad hoc analyses, trainings and special projects and clearly communicate findings to support leadership-level decisions. Effectively prioritizing competing business needs, you will seek out comprehensive & genuine understanding of business topics and P&L interdependencies, building trust with partners through reliable work. Proactively driving improvements and simplifying existing reporting, forecasting and continuous planning processes will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Store business in financial accountability from sales to bottom line profitability through weekly/monthly processes & continuous planning.
  • Analyze and understand key drivers of financial performance through KPIs and provide insights to Store Leaders.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses, trainings, and special projects, clearly communicating findings to support leadership-level decisions.
  • Effectively prioritize competing business needs and seek comprehensive understanding of business topics and P&L interdependencies.
  • Build trust with partners through reliable work and proactivity drive improvements in reporting and forecasting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, modeling, budgeting, and managing complex datasets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience up-leveling complex analysis to leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop effective and influential business relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and provide deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Experience with SQL, advanced datasets, and Anaplan preferred.
  • Experience partnering with business leaders to identify actions and levers to improve business trajectory.
  • High attention to detail, data integrity, and accuracy.
