About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst position at BAE Systems is a key role within the Planning and Analysis team, focusing on delivering financial decision support to stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Generate and analyze financial forecasts and track progress towards meeting them.
• Manage New Business Funds, reporting weekly actual costs and analyzing trends and overall spending.
• Act as the Business Intelligence focal point for the FAST Labs Finance team.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for management, providing top-level analysis and strategies to meet commitments.
• Identify risks and opportunities related to key financial metrics.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions including pivot tables, conditional formatting, and error checking tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a closely related Business discipline.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to self-start and work with limited supervision.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar degree.
• Experience in Program Finance and/or other Finance functional disciplines.
• Working knowledge of project accounting.
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools, Hyperion, Smartview, Project Data, and iPortal.
