About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst for FP&A OPEX at Sonos will support operational expense planning and reporting while driving process improvements. This role involves collaboration with various functional organizations, acting as a trusted business partner and advisor. Key responsibilities include managing the annual planning and monthly forecasting processes, supporting accounting close activities, and building financial models.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the annual planning and monthly forecasting process with business partners.
  • Maintain planning calendars, user templates, and manage Anaplan inputs.
  • Create forecast to forecast variance bridges with explanations.
  • Partner with the Accounting team at each month and quarter-end to ensure accurate accruals for key expense items.
  • Analyze accuracy of results compared to forecast.
  • Become the subject matter expert for OPEX variance explanations versus Plan and Forecast.
  • Lead the storytelling for the teams supported and participate in total company OPEX consolidations.
  • Partner with Finance Systems teams to create tools and reports for streamlined forecasting and accurate reporting.
  • Identify and lead process improvement opportunities across FP&A, Accounting, and other partners.
  • Support ad hoc projects for key business partners.
  • Compile financial projections supporting functional and strategic long-term planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or similar field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years progressive experience in FP&A, accounting, consulting or banking.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modeling and analysis skills.
  • Ability to analyze and summarize large data sets and make recommendations based on the data.
  • General knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and accrual accounting.
  • Full P&L familiarity and budget management exposure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of or experience with FP&A business partnering in a consumer electronics or retail company.
  • Critical Thinking & Analysis skills to synthesize and evaluate data for forecasting.
  • Problem Solving skills to identify and frame problems logically.
  • Customer Orientation with experience communicating across all organizational levels.
