About the position

The city of Newton is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Senior Financial Analyst within the Department of Financial Services. This role is pivotal in managing various financial projects for the city, including the development of financial models specifically for the Health Insurance Trust Fund. The Senior Financial Analyst will also assist with essential administrative duties such as accounts payable and payroll, ensuring that all financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. In this position, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in the creation, analysis, and maintenance of the annual operating and project budgets. This includes overseeing the citywide capital improvement plan and contributing to the long-range financial forecast, which is essential for the city's financial health and planning. The incumbent will be expected to complete assignments on time with minimal supervision, demonstrating adaptability to changing work priorities to meet the dynamic needs of the city of Newton. All work must be completed in accordance with established departmental and city policies, standards, and expectations. This is a full-time position with a hiring salary range of $74,969 to $85,673 annually, along with yearly step increases and excellent benefits.
