About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst - FP&A at Medtronic plays a crucial role in supporting HR and Legal functions across the Americas and EurAsia regions. This position involves financial modeling, forecasting, and business partnering to ensure that financial and strategic objectives are met. The analyst will provide insightful analysis and forecasts of financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and collaborate with various finance teams to operationalize strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial modeling, forecasting, AOP, scenario planning, and business partnering ensuring that deadlines and targets are met.
  • Global planning system data load and reconciliation to target, scenario planning, provide insight into year/year changes in the organization to global functional leadership and Global Functions FP&A team.
  • Operationalize strategic initiatives within your functions. Identify trade-offs to support short and long terms functional goals.
  • Analyze and report on monthly actual results.
  • Support implementation of the FP&A roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 2+ years).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Auditing
  • 3+ years working experience in FP&A, Accounting, Finance or Auditing
  • Fluent in English (fluent in a European language a plus)
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with GFS, Essbase, and/or SAP
  • Good technical accounting/US GAAP knowledge
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers and the proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information.
  • Ability to develop solutions and/or innovative ideas to problems and ensure that solutions are consistent with the organization's objectives.
  • Ability to interface in a global team environment with various levels of management, staff, and other functional areas.
  • Strong organizational and people skills with interests in building strong business partnering relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
