Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst I within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of this role is to provide research-specific support and guidance to Principal Investigators in the administration of contracts related to basic research. This position is crucial in safeguarding the contract resources of the Rutgers Cancer Institute and ensuring the appropriate allocability and allowability of expenses in the daily administration of study budgets. The Senior Financial Analyst I will be responsible for the post-award administration and coordination of assigned clinical trials, grants, and contracts for research and other non-sponsored programs. In this role, the analyst will monitor incoming revenue, maintain cash receipts reports, and collaborate with internal and external entities to ensure timely posting of payments. The position requires quantitative and financial analysis of complex spreadsheets from the Oracle financial system to provide timely and insightful analysis of projects. The analyst will assist in conducting monthly variance analysis, budget and forecast projections, and prepare comprehensive profit and loss statements. The responsibilities extend beyond corporate research contracts to include federal, state, and other sponsored agencies, ensuring accurate journal entries are posted to both sub and general ledgers. Collaboration with Research Financial Services (RFS) central Grant Specialists is essential for reconciling billings from all sources of Grants and Contract research sponsored programs. The analyst will maintain financial analysis templates to ensure that costs and payments from sponsored programs are allowable and allocable. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and approving Marketplace requisitions, reconciling and maintaining Purchase Orders for clinical research services, and performing adjusting entries as needed. The analyst will also submit salary and fringe relief cost transfers and budget allocations through journal entries in the Oracle Financial system.
