About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst I at the Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies plays a crucial role in conducting financial analysis and managing budgets to support the organization's mission of reducing tobacco-related morbidity and mortality. This position involves preparing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring compliance with sponsor policies and Rutgers regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares budget for units within the Institute based on organization's performance, estimated revenue, expense reports and past budget numbers.
  • Supports the Institute's annual RBHS budget preparation.
  • Prepares financial analysis and consults with project principal investigators to monitor progress and ensure adjustments are made in accordance with program changes.
  • Monitors subawards and reviews expenditures of departments to ensure compliance with budget and sponsor policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of progressively more responsible experience in fiscal activities.
  • Proficient in computer applications at an advanced level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials preferred.
  • Strong experience managing a large portfolio of sponsored Grants and Contracts from various types of Sponsoring Agencies preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Research grants and contracts budgeting and federal guidelines/regulations pertaining to Research and Development preferred.
