About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst I at Rutgers University will play a crucial role in the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies by conducting financial analysis, managing budgets, and supporting financial planning initiatives. This position is responsible for ensuring that financial operations align with the organization's objectives and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares budget for units within the Institute based on organization's performance, estimated revenue, expense reports, and past budget numbers.
  • Supports the Institute's annual RBHS budget preparation.
  • Prepares financial analysis and consults with project PIs to monitor progress and ensure adjustments are made in accordance with program changes to facilitate long-term planning; includes the monitoring of subawards.
  • Reviews and approves expenditures of departments to ensure compliance with budget and allowability according to sponsor policy and compliance with Rutgers policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience in financial analysis and budget preparation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
