About the position

The Senior Analyst position at CSCI is designed for an experienced auditor, financial management professional, or financial consultant who possesses the technical expertise necessary to support Federal General Fund (GF) or Working Capital Fund (WCF) financial statement audits. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing day-to-day research, analysis, and communication tasks as directed by the team lead. This role requires a strong command of data analysis technology to effectively analyze financial information and contribute to the audit process. Given the nature of the work, excellent writing and communication skills are essential, as significant time will be spent drafting and updating various communication artifacts, including Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, and whitepapers. In addition to technical skills, the Senior Analyst must demonstrate strong customer service abilities and the capacity to perform well under pressure, particularly in high-stakes situations with tight deadlines. The role also involves directing and reviewing the work of Analysts, ensuring that project-related tasks are communicated effectively to the team lead. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors, fostering collaboration and teamwork while also being capable of working independently when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Executing day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at the direction of the team lead.
  • Utilizing data analysis technology to analyze information.
  • Demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills by drafting/updating communication artifacts.
  • Demonstrating strong customer service skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations with short deadlines.
  • Directing and reviewing the work of Analysts.
  • Communicating the status of project-related tasks to the team lead.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • One of the following professional certifications: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM, or CDFM.
  • 3.5 years of progressive, relevant DoD financial statement auditing, audit remediation, or audit readiness experience.
  • Experience in federal/DoD financial statement auditing, audit remediation, or audit readiness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Ability to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate located in NCR.
  • Experience working with the Federal Government and/or DoD clients.
  • Fund Balance with Treasury (FBWT) reconciliation experience.
  • Experience working with DoD's Advanced Analytics (Advana) platform.
  • Ability to independently research and reconcile variances.
  • Experience researching and applying FASAB, OMB, and Treasury requirements including OMB Circular A-136 and/or the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM).
  • Knowledge of DFAS reporting policy or procedures.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SharePoint, SQL, ACL, Analytics, Python, Microsoft Access databases.
