About the position

Providence is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will play a crucial role in the preparation, maintenance, diagnosis, and analysis of the enterprise-wide Cost Accounting function. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about financial analysis and are eager to contribute to a patient-focused, whole-person care environment. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for determining and implementing cost accounting procedures and methods that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of financial principles and the ability to analyze complex data to support decision-making processes across various departments. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work closely with operational departments to provide insights and recommendations based on your analysis. You will be expected to utilize advanced Excel skills, Power BI, and other statistical applications to create reports and visualizations that effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders. Your expertise will be essential in identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing the overall financial performance of the organization. The position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work for candidates residing in specific states, allowing for a balanced work-life integration while contributing to a mission-driven organization. In addition to your analytical responsibilities, you will also be involved in project management activities, ensuring that financial projects are completed on time and within budget. Responsibilities

  • Preparation, maintenance, diagnosis, and analysis of the enterprise-wide Cost Accounting function.
  • Determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Utilize advanced Excel, Power BI, and statistical applications to create reports and visualizations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance overall financial performance.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to support their financial needs and objectives.
  • Manage financial projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Decision Support, Finance, Nursing, Medical Records, IT, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, business and financial analysis, planning, and project management.
  • Extensive experience with Excel, Power BI or similar databases, PowerPoint, and statistical and graphing applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with decision support and cost accounting in the healthcare industry supporting operational departments.
