About the position

Providence is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will play a crucial role in the preparation, maintenance, diagnosis, and analysis of the enterprise-wide Cost Accounting function. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about financial analysis and are eager to contribute to a patient-focused, whole-person care environment. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for determining and implementing cost accounting procedures and methods that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of financial principles and the ability to analyze complex data to support decision-making processes across various departments. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work closely with operational departments to provide insights and recommendations based on your analysis. You will be expected to utilize advanced Excel skills, along with tools like Power BI, to create reports and dashboards that effectively communicate financial performance and trends. Your analytical skills will be essential in identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements, ultimately contributing to the financial health of the organization. This position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work for applicants residing in specific states, including California, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, business and financial analysis, and project management, with a commitment to supporting the mission of Providence in caring for the most vulnerable in our communities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the enterprise-wide Cost Accounting function.
  • Diagnose and analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.
  • Determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Utilize Excel and Power BI to create reports and dashboards for financial performance analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Decision Support, Finance, Nursing, Medical Records, IT, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, business and financial analysis, planning, and project management.
  • Extensive experience with Excel, Power BI or similar databases, PowerPoint, and statistical and graphing applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration.
  • 2+ years of experience with decision support and cost accounting in the healthcare industry supporting operational departments.
