About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst in Store Operations Finance plays a crucial role as a financial steward within the organization, collaborating with various business partners across core functions. This position requires effective navigation within a matrixed organization, showcasing self-leadership and the ability to influence stakeholders. The analyst will drive operational plans, provide performance reporting, and manage financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the financial forecasting and planning processes with functional partners and business units, resulting in quarterly forecast updates, annual plans, and long-range plans.
  • Provides business performance reporting and commentary.
  • Supports financial modeling and business analytics to address P&L queries.
  • Develops expense plans using agreed upon volume, rate, growth, and transportation cost assumptions; troubleshoots questions and reconciliations.
  • Coordinates with data owners to formulate answers.
  • Collaborates across the business to provide root cause analysis and actionable insights based on financial and non-financial data.
  • Communicates financial and non-financial insights to leaders by preparing analyses using multiple data sources.
  • Analyzes forecast and business case accuracy for root causes issues and applies these learnings to future reports.
  • Develops business cases for key initiatives and major programs by creating robust financial models tied to strategic narratives.
  • Identifies risks to the organization and engages business owners in risk mitigation and trade-offs.
  • Applies solid knowledge of financial and business analytics principles to all deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 3 years of experience in finance or analytical role with a public company, public accounting or related experience
  • Experience in structuring and writing formal documents, developing and delivering group presentations, project planning, and/or cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience with financial forecasting or analytic modeling and report automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 6 years of experience in finance or analytical role with a public company, public accounting or related experience
  • Experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Corporate Accounting, Supply Chain Finance or related field
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Python, R, SAS, Adobe, Alteryx, Knime
  • Strong experience with tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Superset, MicroStrategy, Qlik, etc.
  • Experience with SQL and familiarity with enterprise grade environments (Teradata, Hadoop, Presto)
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) based systems, multi-dimensional databases, such as TM1, Hyperion or Essbase
  • Experience with business intelligence reporting tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, Teradata, SSIS, Svr.)
