About the position

The Global Specialty Fulfillment Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will play a crucial role in designing and launching new business initiatives. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive on solving complex problems and are passionate about enhancing customer experiences. The team focuses on a portfolio of businesses with unique operational capabilities, including Sub Same Day (SSD) and Rural Super Rural (RSR). As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will partner closely with operations teams to influence strategic business decisions, drive operational excellence, and ensure sound investment and expansion strategies. The primary goal is to continuously improve customer experiences while driving long-term profitability across the portfolio. In this role, you will be expected to demonstrate a strong ability to influence business owners and support thoughtful decision-making in a rapidly evolving environment. You will collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon, utilizing your excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex data insights clearly and concisely. A typical day will involve building creative solutions using large-scale data mining tools, identifying high-priority projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and addressing complex problems that impact company-wide strategic decisions. Key responsibilities include creating financial models and plans, interpreting large data sets, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations that drive improvements and influence leaders throughout Amazon. You will also be responsible for building effective business partnerships, actively listening to stakeholders, and communicating data in an unambiguous manner. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to reduce operational costs through data and financial analysis, proactively resolving defects, benchmarking key performance indicators, and developing new metrics. Implementing solutions to simplify, improve, automate, standardize, and scale processes will also be a critical part of your role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field.
  • 3+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access).
  • MBA and/or Professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA).
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to develop creative solutions.
