About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst position at Ball Corporation is a pivotal role that supports the Beverage Packaging North & Central America sales contract administration and compliance. This includes a focus on pricing, accounting treatment, and financial analyses. The analyst will be responsible for administering contract administration systems, ensuring that all financial analyses related to contract compliance are completed accurately and efficiently. This role is integral to the financial health of the organization, as it involves reconciling customer contract provisions and ensuring that all financial settlements are processed correctly. In this position, the Senior Financial Analyst will calculate and review monthly sales accruals, creating periodic customer financial settlements of accrued amounts. They will also review and approve sales accrual-related billings, credits, and payments, ensuring that all transactions are compliant with company policies and procedures. The analyst will support the calculation of budget, forecast, and actual key customer contract periodic price changes, which is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and projections. Additionally, the role involves performing revenue recognition analysis as part of SOX compliance, which may include supporting both internal and external audits. The analyst will assist with system-related process maintenance and improvements regarding contract administration, ensuring that the systems in place are efficient and effective. They will also help maintain standard sales contract language and assist in the development of contracts with key customers. The Senior Financial Analyst will support the division's management approval process, including conducting EVA-based financial analysis for the renewal of existing customer sales contracts and the pricing and development of new customer contracts. They will perform financial analyses related to the initial contract creation of global and regional key accounts, focusing on pricing, terms, and margin. Furthermore, the analyst will create financial models to analyze and solve new and unique business problems or opportunities, contributing to the overall strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Completes financial analyses related to contract compliance, and administers and reconciles customer contract provisions.
  • Calculates and reviews monthly sales accruals and creates periodic customer financial settlements of accrued amounts.
  • Reviews and approves sales accrual related billings, credits and payments.
  • Supports the calculation of budget, forecast and actual key customer contract periodic price changes.
  • Performs revenue recognition analysis as part of SOX compliance, may include supporting internal and external audit.
  • Assists with system related process maintenance and improvements in regards to contract administration.
  • Assists with the maintenance of standard sales contract language and contract development with key customers.
  • Supports the division's management approval process including EVA based financial analysis for the renewal of existing customer sales contracts and new customer contract pricing and contract development.
  • Performs financial analyses related to the initial contract creation of global and regional key accounts in regards to pricing, terms and margin.
  • Creates financial models for analyzing and solving new and unique business problems and or opportunities.

Requirements

  • Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Job related experience for 3 years minimum.
  • Working knowledge of Finance, Accounting, Economic Value Added (EVA), business and economic principles and practices, financial modeling, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents; Legal documents, pricing development, JDE Enterprise One, and Essbase preferred.
  • Understanding of basic accounting and finance principles.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate complex ideas or concepts.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations required for analysis of pricing and contracts.
